| Push Email for your PDA? |
[Jun. 7th, 2006|11:05 pm] |
Originally published at Mike's Ramblings. Please leave any comments there. I recently started using 1and1.com for my new PPC6700 and it rocks. They pointed my domain’s MX server right to them.. and now I get my emails instantly to my PDA with no battery issues or delays (Even faster than my desktop gets them.)
If you’ve got a cool toy like this, its definitely worth checkin into getting an Exchange account somewhere. Its nice to be able to instantly send/receive email, without fighting with POP/IMAP settings, and the battery drains they can become. Check it out! I checked out a few other ‘push’ email solutions and they either aren’t true ‘push’ email, or they lack the ability to use your own domain’s email.

Take a quick minute to watch both of these if you don’t know what its about. It IS a big deal, and it CAN and WILL affect you if you’re reading this post right now.

| AOL's Email Tax |
[Mar. 2nd, 2006|03:57 pm] |

This system would create a two-tiered Internet in which affluent mass emailers could pay AOL a fee that amounts to an "email tax" for every email sent, in return for a guarantee that such messages would bypass spam filters and go directly to AOL members' inboxes. Those who did not pay the "email tax" would increasingly be left behind with unreliable service. Your customers expect that your first obligation is to deliver all of their wanted mail, and this plan is a step away from that obligation.
Check out Dear AOL. This is a bad View and comment on this post at my real blog |

| | happy | ] | Here for a business trip (followed by 3 places in Idaho, Tue-Fri).
Flew on a small twin propr plane for the first time. Noisy, free vibrating seat, but pretty cool, especially since the flight only had a few people and we had fun stewardesses.
But mostly... Only been here a few hours.. but mm they grow 'em nice n' handsome out here!View and comment on this post at my real blog |

How You Life Your Life
|

You seem to be straight forward, but you keep a lot inside.
You're laid back and chill, but sometimes you care too much about what others think.
You prefer a variety of friends and tend to change friends quickly.
You tend to always dream of things within reach - and you usually get them.

| [ | mood |
| | tired | ] | Which means I should be posting more often, I took most of the Summer off from updating this thing.
My first week went pretty well, even if it was a bit tiring.
Speaking of tiring, I think I'm going to be tired a lot until the end of this quarter. My schedule looks something like this:
Mon: Work 10-11, Class 12-1, Work 2-3, Class 5-7 Tues: Class 12-1, Class 5-9 Wed: Work 10-11, Class 12-1, Work 2-3, Class 5-7 Thursday: Work 7-3, Class 5-9 Friday: Work 7-3, do homework 1 hour each way to and from Seattle on the Ferry Saturday: Work 11-5 Sunday: Work 11-5
Fit in homework wherever I can. Repeat until I die!
Luckily my job during the week is pretty low stress. I basically just go visit my clients and see how they're doing and sometimes do a little training on our ordering system. Easy, but time consuming.View and comment on this post at my real blog |

| The Transporter 2 |
[Sep. 24th, 2005|03:19 am] |
| [ | mood |
| | amused | ] | Finally went and saw this tonight (I know, a few weeks late). It was a pretty decent action movie, if rather amusing at times - heck, I was even chuckling (at the movie, not 'with' the movie) as I left the theatre.
*POSSIBLE SOILERS*
So in a lot of ways this is like the first Transporter, except set in Miami instead of France, and this time with a bullet proof car. Oh yeah, and the action stunts OMG COMCAST ROCKS were ever crazier than before. Everyone in the theatre had a nice chuckle as the Driver, when confronted with a bomb under the car, promptly jumped off a ramp and as his car went through a mid air barrel roll, managed to snag the bomb on the hook hanging from a crane and land perfectly on the ground OMGZ IPODS CAN STORE PHOTOS as the bomb exploded behind him. Oh and of course there's the obligatory jump from a multilevel car garage into a nearby building under construction in which they slide across the ENTIRETY of this new building and manage to miss every support beam along the way.
Honestly, however, even with all of these wacked out stunts (Which were all done very well, despite poor CGI work at times), the movie was OMGZ DRINK COCA-COLA pretty good.
Did I mention all of the random product placement?View and comment on this post at my real blog |

Your Passion is Purple |

Sophisticated and classy, you're a bit picky about sex. You're more likely to be turned on by a fancy hotel room than a dirty flick. Sex is fine enough, as long as it doesn't mess up your hair. For you, sex is more about power and favors than actually pleasure. |

| | DMB - Crash | ] | Mostly this is because I finally took a 'medium' quality full resolution photo from my phone, and figured I'd show people my car (and my phone's camera quality) since several have asked and many have never seen a Ford Contour SVT. Its a '98, but I've taken good care of it and I like it :) They only made a couple thousand of these. Basically its a 'typical' Contour with a lot of extra trim, an extra big engine, fancy dash, sunroof, leather interior and err stuff :)

| What kind of humor do I like? |
[Jul. 28th, 2005|02:44 am] |
| [ | mood |
| | silly | ] | Apparently I could make big bucks as a comedian!
Stolen from Sleepy
the Shock Jock (52% dark, 47% spontaneous, 61% vulgar) | your humor style: VULGAR | SPONTANEOUS | DARK
Your sense of humor is off-the-cuff and kind of gross. Is it is also sinister, cynical, and vaguely threatening to the purer folks of this world, and you probably get off on that. You would cut a greasy fart, then blame it on your mom, and then just shrug when someone pointed out that she's dead.
Yours is hands-down the most outrageous sense of humor; you like things trangressive and hardcore. It's highly likely (a) you have no limits (b) you have no scruples and (c) you have no job. Ironically, it's your type of humor that can make the biggest bucks in show business.
PEOPLE LIKE YOU: Howard Stern - Adam Sandler - Roseanne Barr | |

| New Jobs and Hot Geeky Boys |
[Jun. 13th, 2005|05:02 am] |
| [ | mood |
| | flirty | ] | So my part time new job involves selling DSL service at a local big brand computer/tech store.
This brings to light several facts:
1) I work with geeky boys 1a) Several of them are gamers 1b) Most of them are VERY hawt
2)I see lots of cute geeky boys coming into the store
3)I also happen to live in a Navy town 3a) This means that not only do I get cute geeky boys but I get cute geeky hawt military boys.
*sigh* At least work goes by quick :)View/comment on this post at my real blog |
